The Fine Print
What to Expect:
- Balance transfers may not exceed your approved credit limit
- Promotional APR does not apply to purchases or cash advances
- There is no grace period for balance transfers; finance charges begin accruing the day each transfer posts
- Balance transfers do not earn Pelican Points
- May take up to 3 weeks for the transfer to appear on your other account; continue making payments until confirmed
- Your transfer will show as a payment on your other account statement and as a loan add-on or disbursement on your Pelican statement
- A balance transfer fee of $5 or 3.5% of the transferred amount (whichever is greater) applies unless otherwise specified in a promotional offer
- Balance transfers cannot be used to pay any Pelican loan, line of credit, or credit card account
- Closing the account you transfer from may impact your credit score; a free credit counseling consultation can help
